"I describe my work most often as 'abstract realism', because it blends elements of my formal training in realism and graphic design, my love of the abstract expressionist of the 50's, and the influence of pop art which captivated me in the 60's. Characteristically my paintings and photographs integrate natural objects such as flowers, plants, leaves or rocks with the reflective surfaces of man-made objects or commercial products.

Thus real objects are combined to form a composition in which they lend themselves to abstraction that simply evokes an adventure for the eye through the medium of photography and painting.

Today my interest is primarily producing editions of giclee prints on canvas, selected from a variety of paintings produced between 1988 and 2004.

My other interest is photography that captures the natural textures found in nature from all across the American landscape, and 'table-top' photography using reflective material and lighting to create illussionary objects or abstract compositions."
